THE Website Supporting Artists Need To Visit Regularly

A question for all Supporting Artists on Ray Knight Casting’s books…

Are you familiar with and abiding by our terms and conditions?

Strange question?

If you don’t know the answer to this, then read on as we’ll answer this question together with others and let you know why you need to visit www.rayknight.co.uk on a regular basis.

Unlike many websites, our Ray Knight Casting website is much more than a “Store Window” for Ray Knight Casting, it’s also a valuable source of useful up-to-date information and resources.

In order to stay relevant, we periodically update the information and resources at www.rayknight.co.uk and it’s worth our supporting artists revisiting our site on a regular basis to stay up-to-date.

Here are some pointers to the resources we have at www.rayknight.co.uk

1) It’s All About The Money, Money, Money.

100-euro-bills-beside-mastercard-210745Rates of pay for the main TV and film agreements differ according to the production you work on; whether it’s a BBC production or a production working to the FAA agreement.

It’s obviously worth knowing the difference in the rates between agreements and what you can expect to be paid for the work you’re going to do.

You’ll find all this information at www.rayknight.co.uk/rates

2) It’s A Numbers Game

As you’ll know, payment is made up of various elements including time of blocks-blur-close-up-colorful-311269day you’re called, the day of week worked, overtime, broken lunches and so on. Once again this will depend on the agreement in place for the production you work on.

A final payment can easily include over half a dozen of these factors and working out how this was calculated can make the keeping of your financial records a lot easier and help you check that you have been paid correctly.

Once again, we have a useful resource for you to calculate your fees and this is available for you at www.rayknight.co.uk/ratecalc

3) Seek And Ye Shall Find.

Not sure where Carrington Studios are?

How about Dukes Island Studios?

Greenford Studios?

What about…?

Never mind.

For an extensive list of studios together with their corresponding Google Map and full address details simply visit www.rayknight.co.uk/studios

4) Stop… In The Name Of The Law.

Thinking of adding police uniform to your existing kit to improve your photography-of-a-persons-hand-with-stop-signage-823301chances of work?

Stop.

Before you do, please read our information and resources regarding all you need to know before you go ahead.

Save time, money and keep on the right side of the law by visiting www.rayknight.co.uk/police-uniforms-costumes

5) Things Can Get Personal.

a-flowering-tree-beside-a-wooden-fence-2932024Here at Ray Knight Casting we have a firm commitment to industry policy, legislation and good practice and we take your privacy very seriously.

To know how we use your personal data (or don’t, as the case may be) and how we adhere to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) as it applies in the UK, visit www.rayknight.co.uk/privacy-policy

6) Don’t Limit Your Work.

Ray Knight Casting is committed to working in line with a particular Code of speed-limit-25-signage-164524Conduct now in common use across the industry.

The Code of Conduct requires that all artistes who are working on any production which involves (or could at some point involve) working with children and/or persons under the age of 18 at any stage during production, will be required to obtain at least a basic disclosure check, to verify the artiste’s suitability for work of this nature.

If we do not hold a current valid Disclosure Certificate for you on file, it may seriously limit your chances of obtaining work, even if you are an established “regular” on a particular production.

So, what else should you know about our Disclosure Certificate policy?

Visit our valuable resource over at www.rayknight.co.uk/disclosure-policy

7) Are You Sticking To Our Terms & Conditions?

agree-agreement-ankreuzen-arrangement-210585Let’s ask you a different question, shall we?

When was the last time you read our Terms and Conditions?

Memory a bit sketchy on that…?

In that case how would you know whether you’re in breach of our T&Cs?

Like many organisations we regularly review and tweak our T&Cs and therefore it’s worth revisiting ours every-so-often.

You are our workforce and we have a responsibility to you as you do to us.

Keep up to date at www.rayknight.co.uk/artiste-terms-conditions
